Daman and Diu
Daman and Diu, located in the Western India were also a part of Portuguese India until 1962. It has manufacturing industry being sandwiched between the two most prosperous states, namely Maharastra and Gujarat. It is also a tourist resort with its beaches, Portuguese architecture and its Churches and Cathedrals. Fishing is also a major activity. Diu is an Indian Air Force base. The languages spoken include Gujarati and Portuguese.
