Karnataka, is located in the South with its main city being Bangalore, and other important ones are Mysore, Mangalore and Bellary. The state is on higher elevation on the Western Ghats and the Deccan plateau and is climatically cooler. The main language is Kannada.

It is the centre of the IT industry, and also has gold mines and diamond cutting industry.

Bangalore is considered the Silicone Valley of India and several call centres for marketing products and customer services for companies around the world are located there. It also has breweries from where Cobra beer and other famous brands of alcohol are marketed around India and some around the world.

The city attracts many young and skilled professionals from all over India to work for market research centres, financial advisory services, accountancy firms, real estate developers, law firms and medical centres. There are many hotels, bars, restaurants but there may be room for new or innovative concepts like restaurants with a theme or special entertainment. The entertainment industry has also grown but there is still room for more entertainment for young professionals and the young as a whole. There are number of shopping malls and the clothing suitable for hot tropical climate would be successful including designer wear, as would accessories and jewellery because people have considerable disposable income in the city. The clothing for women is more conservative and some resolved around local Indian fashions.

There is also a demand for fitted kitchens, luxury bathrooms and household items from abroad for the new condominiums or apartment blocks and houses.
