Haryana

Haryana is in North Western India, bordering New Delhi. Its capital is Chandigarh which is itself a union territory and is an important commercial centre. The main languages there are Hindi and Punjabi.

Many of the industries and offices have relocated from Delhi to Gurgaon in Haryana which is treated almost like a suburb of Delhi. Gurgaon has call centres and offices of foreign and multinational corporations.  It also has building and construction industry with plush apartment complexes, shopping malls, and internationally known bars and restaurants. Sonipat and Panipat are well known for its textiles, furniture and other factories which export goods around the world. Faridabad is also another industrial belt bordering Delhi. Other commercially important areas are Karnal, Panchkula, Hissar, Ambala and Rohtak.

 Industries include agricultural machinery, automobiles, IT hardware and dairy. It is a state where retail and restaurant franchises have made tremendous progress.
