Arunachal Pradesh

This state is in the North East, a politically sensitive region as it is claimed by both India and China. It has mainly mountainous terrain with several tribes who are mainly Buddhists and have oriental features. The state has an agricultural economy based on rice and fish. The capital is Itanagar. Its previous economy depended upon timber, but the felling of trees was banned by the Supreme Court. The Government promotes investment in this area by providing tax incentives and concessions to those that locate their industry or factory in this region and provide employment.
